I first looked into LJC-E because I was always fascinated with manga and anime as a child. I have always had in interest in the Japanese culture and way of life. Whilst at university, I worked for a few years tutoring English to ESL students on campus. I wanted to continue this as I found I really enjoyed helping others with their English so I gained my TEFL certification.
Looking around, I could see lots of positions being advertised in Japan for people who had some experience, but I knew enough to understand I shouldn’t just jump on a plane. So, I approached LJC-E to see what they could offer. They helped me get started in Japan with an ALT position. The school holidays are a great perk. I have had a great time exploring the main islands, riding on the
bullet trains and tasting as many regional specialities as I can. I was very surprised by how reasonable it is to explore by “shinkansen” and how affordable the local food is. I am planning on starting a blog in English about the various types of ramen I have found on my travels!
